Author Guidelines

In accordance with academic and professional protocols, Eco-Economics Review accept an article if it is the author's original work, has not been published before or is not currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. Papers presented at conferences are acceptable, provided that they have not been published in full in Conference Proceedings.
In submitting an article, the author must be the owner of the copyright. Our journal is consistent with the principles governing the intellectual property rights, discouraging any attempt of plagiarism, regardless of its forms - involuntary, self-plagiarism, voluntary misappropriation of other people's ideas. The editor reserves the right to reject the article from the beginning and to refuse to publish future articles from the authors who have committed plagiarism. If the Author wishes to abandon the review process or remove his/her article from elsewhere in the system before publication, the article must be formally withdrawn in writing before it can be submitted to another journal.
All articles will be submitted in English. Please ensure that proper English is used. The editorial committee cannot accept articles that are not readable in English.

1. A guide to reviewing

The Eco-Economics Review places great emphasis on the quality of the articles it publishes. Therefore, submitted articles are put through a peer-review process in which: Articles are sent to two experts for their refereeing.

Peer review (also known as refereeing) is the process of subjecting an author's scholarly work, research, or ideas to the scrutiny of others who are experts in the same field. Peer review requires a community of experts in a given (and often narrowly defined) field, who are qualified and able to perform impartial review.

The Journal follows a strict blind peer-review process, wherein the reviewers are not aware of the identities of the authors of the papers which are being reviewed by them. This policy is a recent amendment to the existing set of guidelines so as to prevent any sort of favoritism. The reviewers are selected after thorough screening process.

The reviewers' recommendations determine whether an article will be:
Accepted;
Accepted subject to changes;
Rejected.
For articles which require changes, the same reviewers will be used to ensure that the quality of the revised article is acceptable.
The Editor in Chief reserves the right to refuse any article, whether invited or otherwise, and to make suggestions and/or modifications before publication. The publisher shall furnish authors of accepted articles with proofs for the correction of printing errors. The publishers shall not be held responsible for errors which are the result of authors' oversights.

2. Journal Policy

The journal appears two times a year, usually in the last month of the semester. The submission of the articles is 45 days ahead of the final publishing deadline: for the number of June, items will be sent to the editorial office until May 15; December - until November 15.

The authors are informed via e-mail about the result of the verification within 30 days from the submission deadline. Eligible articles are submitted to blind peer review methodology, authors being also informed about the results of evaluation.

Manuscripts should be submitted using the form provided on the Journal's website or by sending an email with attachment at eer@ueb.ro, or bogdan.draghia@insse.ro.

3. Recommendations

Format - All files should be submitted as a Word document in format MS-Word 2003-2015 (with the extension ".doc" or ".docx").

Language - Articles should be written in clear, concise and grammatically correct English.

Font - 12 font size and Times New Roman style.

Margins - 1 inch each side.

Space - The entire paper, including references, should be typed single line spaced.

Article Length - The articles must be 10 to 15 pages long.

Article Title Page - It should be concise and informative, written in uppercase and centered across the top of the page, 14 point, bold. Titles do not normally include numbers, acronyms, abbreviations or punctuation. They should include sufficient details for indexing purposes but be general enough for readers outside the field to appreciate what the paper is about.

Author Details. Indicate the given name and family name clearly. Present the authors' affiliation addresses (where the actual work was done) below the names. Indicate all affiliations with a lower-case superscript letter immediately after the author's name and in front of the appropriate address. Provide the full postal address of each affiliation, including the country name, and, if available, the e-mail address, and telephone number of each author.

Corresponding author. Full name of the person who is willing to handle correspondence at all stages of refereeing, publication and also post-publication. Ensure that telephone numbers (with country and area code) are provided in addition to the e-mail address and the complete postal address.

Abstract - A concise and factual abstract is required. It should contain the following headings: Purpose, Design/methodology/approach, Main findings, Originality/value, Conclusions/Recommendations. Maximum length of 300 words. References to the literature and mathematical symbols or equations should not be included.

Keywords - Four to seven keywords that capture the essence of the paper should be listed in decreasing order of importance, ensuring consistency with the title and the abstract of the article.

JEL Classification - The article should follow the Journal of Economic Literature classification system (JEL), in one or several categories. The primary JEL categories:

Introduction - This section should include sufficient background information to set the work in context. The aims of the manuscript should be clearly stated. The introduction should not contain either findings or conclusions.

Paper Body - The structure of the paper should be clear and well emphasized by titles and subtitles placed in a logical sequence, according to the writing methodology of the scientific papers. In order to allow the readers to understand better the work of the authors, the following structure of the paper will be used: research methodology, results and conclusions.

Methodology - It shall be started as a continuation to introduction on the same page. This section should include the methods used. It should be concise but provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be repeated by others.

Results - It shall be started as a continuation to methodology. The important results of the work should be clearly stated and illustrated where necessary by tables and figures. The statistical treatment of data and significance level of the factors should be stated wherever necessary.

Conclusions - A conclusion section is required. Conclusions should provide a synthesis of the main contributions of the paper, discuss the importance of the work, and suggest possible limits and extensions of the research.

Headings - Divide your article into clearly defined and numbered sections. Subsections should be numbered 1, 2. (then 1.1, 1.1.1, 1.1.2), 1.2 etc. The abstract is not included in section numbering.

Notes/Endnotes - Notes or Endnotes should be used only if absolutely necessary and must be identified in the text by consecutive numbers, enclosed in square brackets and listed at the end of the article.

Figures - All Figures (graphs, diagrams, chromatograms, photos etc.) should be of high quality, suitable for reproduction, legible and numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals. All figures should be embedded within the manuscript and presented with a comprehensive but concise legend above the figure.

Tables - It should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals and embedded within the manuscript. Each table should be presented with a comprehensive but concise legend above the table. Column headings should be brief, with units of measurement in parentheses.

Equations - It should be numbered sequentially in square brackets [..] to the right margin. Within the text, an equation is referred to as 'eqn [..], or equations as 'eqns [ .. - i]

Abbreviations and Units - Abbreviations that are accepted and recognized as common scientific terminology may be used without definition. All nonstandard abbreviations should be defined at that point in the text where they first appear.

Citations in the text - In the text references are by author's family name and the year of the reference, as detailed in the Reference List, e.g. Cowell (2000) or (Cowell, 2011). Two authors to one reference by e.g. Riobóo and Jaba (2011) or (Riobóo and Jaba, 2011). More than two authors by e.g. Schechtman et al (2012) or (Schechtman et al., 2012). Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list. Avoid citation in the abstract.

References - This section shall be started as a continuation to conclusions and it should refer only to material cited in the article. References should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if necessary. More than one reference from the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters "a", "b", "c", etc., placed after the year of publication.

For books - Surname, Initials (year), Title of Book, Publisher, Place of publication.
For book chapters - Surname, Initials (year), "Chapter title", Editor's Surname, Initials, Title of Book, Publisher, Place of publication, pages.
For journals - Surname, Initials (year), "Title of article", Journal Name, volume, number, pages.
For published conference proceedings - Surname, Initials (year of publication), "Title of paper", in Surname, Initials (Ed.), Title of published proceeding which may include place and date(s) held, Publisher, Place of publication, Page numbers.
For unpublished conference proceedings - Surname, Initials (year), "Title of paper", paper presented at Name of Conference, date of conference, place of conference, available at: URL if freely available on the internet (accessed date).
For working papers - Surname, Initials (year), "Title of article", working paper [number if available], Institution or organization, Place of organization, date.
For encyclopedia entries (with no author or editor) - Title of Encyclopedia (year) "Title of entry", volume, edition, Title of Encyclopedia, Publisher, Place of publication, pages. (For authored entries please refer to book chapter guidelines above)
For newspaper articles (authored) - Surname, Initials (year), "Article title", Newspaper, date, pages.
For newspaper articles (non-authored) - Newspaper (year), "Article title", date, pages.
For electronic sources - If available online, the full URL should be supplied at the end of the reference, as well as a date that the resource was accessed. Standalone URLs, i.e. without an author or date, should be included either within parentheses within the main text, or preferably set as a note (roman numeral within square brackets within text followed by the full URL address at the end of the paper).
